THE STORY OF NAMIKEI
Namikei is the culmination of a long creative journey: transforming sound into three-dimensional form.
Sound has a unique ability to move us—its rhythm, harmony, and tone shaping our emotions in ways no other medium can. Yet the sounds most personal to us are often fleeting, fading with time.
Our Sound-Made process captures those moments. Sound becomes raw material, sculpting digital space with its rhythm, harmony, and timbre. The result is an organic, sculptural geometry—each form entirely unique to its origin sound.
Every Namikei piece is crafted in Portugal, combining digital precision with the artistry of traditional silversmithing. Each carries not just a design, but a story that began as sound.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Mark Lloyd studied Engineering at Cambridge University and Industrial Design at the Royal College of Art, London.
An award-winning car designer, he founded Skopelab in 2019, dedicated to exploring the transformation of sound into geometry. His first application of Sound-Made Technology came in 2023 with the launch of Claraval, a Portuguese ceramics brand now exporting to over 20 countries worldwide.
In 2025, after relocating from Paris to Porto, Mark founded FormsFrom to further explore sound-made design in fields where Portuguese craftsmanship excels. Namikei represents the most personal of these explorations—bespoke jewellery shaped by sound, crafted to be worn and treasured for a lifetime.
